iPhone 6 Features: What Users Would Like To See

Updated on

A number of iPhone 6 concept designs, rumors and speculations have surfaced over the last few months. Many of them seem realistic, but others look pretty foolish. Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is expected to release the device later this year. Let’s have a look at some features that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) users would like to in the next iPhone, rumor or not.

iPhone 6 with a larger display

Almost all sources agree users would like to see a larger display. A big screen has become increasingly important for Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) as the company is shifting its focus to China. Asian users have shown a major interest in bigger displays, and many Android phablets are ruling the market. So far, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has avoided going for a bigger screen because they don’t easily fit into your pocket and can’t be operated with a single hand. But they can easily increase the display size in iPhone 6, by slimming down the thick bezels. Craig Lloyd of GottaBeMobile says that the iPhone 6 display can be increased to 4.5-inch by opting for thinner bezels. This way, the company won’t have to increase the overall size of the phone.

NFC in iPhone 6

Today, NFC is available in most of the high-end Android devices, but Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has decided to stay away from the technology so far. Users expect to see the technology in the iPhone 6. But the recently unveiled iBeacon can make it unlikely to happen. The iBeacon can do most of the things NFC does, but it has a much broader range, just like Wi-Fi network. If Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) goes ahead with iBeacon, iPhone 6 users will enjoy the same benefits. But cross-platform transfer remains a big question — i.e., you may not be able to send something from the iPhone 6 to an Android device.

A thinner iPhone 6

There have been rumors that the iPhone 6 could be the world’s slimmest smartphone. That is still just a rumor, but one thing is certain, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has made every successive iPhone thinner than its predecessor. The iPhone 4 was thinner than the 3GS, and the iPhone 5S is thinner than any of its predecessors. So, it’s highly likely that the iPhone 6 could be even slimmer. That’s why many concept designs expect the next iPhone to be named iPhone Air.

An improved camera

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) also improves the camera in iPhones with every generation. The latest reports suggest that the megapixel count will remain the same, but the iPhone 6 is likely to have improved sensors, enabling the device to take even better photos. Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) fans are expecting better contrast, low light capabilities and enhanced saturation and brightness.

Wireless charging

Users would love to see a wireless charging feature in the iPhone 6. Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has always aimed for convenience and simplicity, and a wireless charger will certainly make it more convenient to charge the device. Users will no longer have to worry about USB cables or wall chargers.

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is likely to incorporate several high-end features in the iPhone 6 to ward off the fierce competition and prove that the company hasn’t lost its edge.
