Bill Ackman Brings in the Bucks with Beam Surge

Starting off the week strong are Beam Inc (NYSE:BEAM), ClickSoftware Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ:CKSW), and Novavax, Inc. (NASDAQ:NVAX). Sodastream International Ltd (NASDAQ:SODA), Ply Gem Holdings Inc (NYSE:PGEM), FleetMatics Group PLC (NYSE:FLTX), however, find themselves on the losing end.

Beam is today’s top performing stock

On the top of our midday gainers list is Beam Inc (NYSE:BEAM), which shot up +24.03% to $83.07. Activist investor Bill Ackman holds a big 20.8 million-share-stake in BEAM (13.01% of his portfolio), his assets acquired at an average price of $48.25. Ray Dalio holds 11,000 shares.

Following BEAM is ClickSoftware Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ:CKSW), the share price of which increased +22.07 to reach $8.92. It composes 0.21% of George Soros’ portfolio, who holds three million shares.

Third on the list is biopharmaceutical company Novavax, Inc. (NASDAQ:NVAX), which increased +9.64% to $5.68. Soros holds more than 500,000 shares, acquired at an average price of $2.72 each and composing 0.02% of his portfolio.

Midday Losers

Topping off our midday losers list is Sodastream International Ltd (NASDAQ:SODA), which decreased -22.53% to $38.65. Tiger Global holds 400,000 shares of the beverage company (0.42% of the fund).

Second is Ply Gem Holdings Inc (NYSE:PGEM). The building products company dropped -16.89% today. As of September 2013, David Tepper owns 440,000 shares, purchased at an average $18.94.

Rounding out the list of losers this Monday is SaaS firm FleetMatics Group PLC (NYSE:FLTX), the share price of which fell -5.93. George Soros owns 42,000 shares of the company, composing 0.02% of his fund.
