Fatal Error: Some iTunes And App Store Users Can’t Log In To Accounts

Updated on

Some iTunes and App Store users are unable to log into the App Store with their accounts thanks to a fatal error message which reads “FATAL::Unable to process your request. Please try again”

iTunes issue has been ongoing since Wednesday night

The problem apparently started on Wednesday night and has been an ongoing issue throughout Thursday. MacRumors indicated, “[This] is ongoing according to a thread on Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s online Support Communities and multiple users on MacRumors’ forums. The error occurs on both mobile devices and Macs and according to user reports, it is affecting the App Store, the Mac App Store, the iTunes Store, and the iBookstore. Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s System Status page has thus far not reported any issues, but according to oneMacRumors reader who contacted AppleCare, there have been ongoing problems with Apple ID logins. Yesterday, some users were also getting a different error: “This Apple ID cannot be used for the iTunes Store. Please enter another Apple ID.”

Apple aware of issue, has good track record of fixes

At press time, there is no fix for this problem although the company is aware of the issue.

AppAdvice also reported on another issue affecting the App Store. This problem concerns subcategory listings, more particularly the games and Newsstand titles are not listed in the subcategory page. When these are listed, the number of titles is rather limited. This is also a problem that affects all platforms.

Technical problems and occasional glitches affect the App Store and iTunes from time to time. The current issues should be resolved soon, especially since these issues have garnered media attention. Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is generally prompt when it comes to fixing these technical difficulties.

The App Store has been making a lot of news lately. Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) recently improved their App Store search engine by correcting fat finger mistakes and typo-related issues. This improvement will make it easier for users to find what they are looking for without random mistakes.
