Apple Inc. iPad Mini With Retina Display On Sale Now

Updated on

The long-awaited iPad Mini with Retina display is finally available. Although there were initial concerns about supply, so far, so good. Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) said recently that it would be working hard to keep up with demand for the tablet. CEO Tim Cook said at Apple’s earnings call that they didn’t know if they would have enough iPad Mini 2 tablets to fulfill demand during the December quarter.

iPad Mini with Retina still available online

As of this writing, the iPad Mini 2 with Retina display was still available for purchase at Apple’s online store, although there’s a bit of a wait. The 16 GB and 32 GB versions of the Wi-Fi only model were available to ship in one to three business days. All of the other models, however, including all four of the Wi-Fi with cellular capability and the two larger models with Wi-Fi only, will ship in five to ten business days.

The new iPad went on sale at midnight last night, and perhaps one of the reasons it is still in stock is because Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) didn’t really pre-announce the exact date of release. All it said at the unveiling was that it would be available sometime this month. So if the new tablet is going to be as popular as Apple thinks it will be and supply is as constrained as believed, then they may not be available for long.

Features and accessories for the iPad Mini with Retina display

The iPad Mini with Retina display will feature pretty much the same specs as the iPad Air, although of course it is smaller in size. Both have the A7 processor, the same display and the same camera.

For those looking for a little something extra to go with their iPad Mini 2, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is also offering Smart Covers and a leather Smart Case to protect the front and back of the device. The leather case comes in several colors, including yellow, brown, blue and black.
