In spite of all the flak Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) has gotten since the fiery crash recently, the automaker is coming out with a squeaky clean reputation for safety. In fact, more photos of wrecks posted on other sites are highlighting the safety of the Model S and showing just why the vehicle received the highest rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

A “violent” Tesla wreck in New York

Jalopnik published photos of a crash in New York which the site says totaled the Model S. From the photo that’s posted, it doesn’t look like the damage is too bad, but it did rip the wheels right off the car. Also the suspension ended up being ripped apart in the wreck. Nonetheless, the driver / passenger compartment looks to be undamaged, and the passenger was said to be just fine even though the airbag came out.

You may remember that the Model S broke the testing machine when the NHTSA did its safety testing because the roof was so strong. It will be interesting to read the accident report on this wreck if it really was as violent as the post claims.

Another Tesla wreck on Long Island

This other wreck published this week on ecomento looks far worse than the one described above. The driver posted photos from his wreck on Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA)’s forum. A woman on a mobile phone allegedly ran a red light and crashed right into the Model S. Unfortunately an ambulance had to transport her to the hospital. However, the Model S driver said he was not injured at all, even though he said the vehicle was totaled.

He even thanked Elon Musk for the safety of the Model S, saying that it saved his life. Wonder if he’ll be in line to get another Model S just like the driver from the fiery crash which has been widely publicized.
