Software penetration into the mobiles will help Google to take forward its mobile segment even when android growth rate slows down. Google will get an advantage over Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) as the iPhone maker does not provide software to any other device maker.

Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) Apps are becoming increasingly popular on iOS run devices, which will help the Internet firm to reach using Apple’s hardware. Around 58 million iOS users use Google Voice, Search, Translate, Maps, and Drive compared to 48 million users in the fourth quarter of 2012. Analysts believe that around 10 to 15 percent users use Google software services on their Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) hardware, assuming people use various apps.

Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) maps have been updated with many advanced features, which is giving a tough time to the competitors. The betterment of features has also increased the number of users of the product. The enhancements include improved speed from its mobile app, more personalization, the addition of remote locations, new street view destinations, and panoramic picture capabilities for small businesses in new countries.

Analysts see YouTube as the best mobile video app, given its massive library of videos and ease of use. Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL), on the other hand, lacks any such feature where users can browse user-generated videos along with “semi-pro” broadcasts. YouTube is expected to generate around $800 million in 2013.

Google has better apps than Apple

In terms of data Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) is a step ahead of Apple. According to analysts, Google Now is a better product compared to Apple’s latest launch “Today” in iOS notification center. Google has more data of user’s activities on mobile through which it is able to deliver superior recommendations and answers to users.

Also, Google Drive can be accessed on various devices compared to iCloud, which is specifically made for Apple. However, the rest of the features of both apps is similar.

According to the analyst, Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG)’s software has assisted it significantly to capture the mega share of the market. The analyst estimated android’s share of the global tablet market surged to 49 percent in the second quarter of 2013 compared to 19 percent in the second quarter of 2012. On the other hand, iOs’ share decreased to 49 percent from 58 percent during the same period.
