Apple iOS 7 update

iOS 7 is one of the biggest updates Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has ever made to its operating system. Here’s a run down of the top ten new features in the new operating system, including the new applications and the new design.

Control center: This is one of the first things that users are going to notice about iOS 7 when they first get their hands on it. The Control Center can be accessed by swiping upward on the home screen. Control Center will allow users to adjust phone brightness and turn on and off various settings, like Wi-Fi.

Complete visual change: iOS 7 will see the look of the Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL) operating system completely change. The software will have a new app design for all of the Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) homegrown applications. At its base, iOS 7 will look much flatter and much more colorful than iOS 6.

iTunes Radio: This is one of the incremental software features that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) pushes that customers barely notice until they’ve been using it for weeks. The service will allow iOS 7 users to listen to music for free as long as they listen to advertisements in between. The service is likely to be a hit among iPhone and iPad users, and Pandora will be looking over its shoulder.

iCloud Keychain: Another feature that few will talk about but many will appreciate. iCloud Keychain will allow users to store their passwords and log in details in the cloud and have Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) look after the strings for them.

FaceTime Audio:  A feature that has been called for many times, iOS 7 will finally offer Facetime without the video, facilitating free phone calls. The move may annoy mobile carriers, and the name may be absurd, but users will be happy to have a native free phone call application.

AirDrop: The file sharing service is supposed to be an alternative to the NFC sharing that is popular on Android smart phones. The service does what Bluetooth promised years ago. It allows the quick and easy transfer of pictures and the like from device to device.

Photo filters: Those opposed to Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) often highlight the company’s lack of innovation by pointing to services like the new photo filters in iOS 7. These are not original, and nobody seems to be claiming they are. What they do, though, is offer a native alternative to Instagram and strengthen the totality of iOS7.

Siri Boost: Siri will see a host of improvements in iOS 7. The personal assistant will be able to change phone settings, pronounce words properly, look through social networks and search Google Bing or other services. Siri will now have a male voice option for American English as well.

Multitasking: The new iOS update will further optimize the phone in order to let users get on with their lives. iOS 7 has a host of new features that will make multitasking easier for users, improving the usability of the device considerably. iOS 7 will completely change the multitasking screen, offering a new card like interface to pick between running applications.
