While many were excited about iOS 7, there are always going to be those who prefer the previous version of the operating system. And now that we’re about a week into the upgrade, it’s clear that many are not pleased with it.
Nonetheless, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) wants every iOS user to be on the new version, whether they like it or not. According to Josh Lowensohn of CNET, the company has forced iOS 7 downloads on some users who purposely chose not to download the update themselves. Then Apple made it impossible for them to downgrade back to iOS 6.
Apple users complain about iOS 7
Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s forums and Twitter are abuzz with users who don’t like certain things about iOS 7. CNET reports that although iOS 7 still requires users to install the downloaded operating system on their devices, it is impossible to get rid of it. In other words, iOS 7 is taking up a lot of room on iOS devices for those who choose not to install it, and Apple is preventing iOS 7 from being deleted.
In addition, those who did upgrade to iOS 7 and decide they don’t like it are being prevented from downgrading back to iOS 6, according to International Business Times. iOS users who attempt to downgrade back to the old operating system receive an error message which states that the devices running on the public iOS 7 release are no longer eligible for the iOS 6 firmware build.
Apple users experiencing motion sickness
One of the reasons some users of Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s devices want to go back to iOS 6 is because they are experiencing motion sickness with the new version. One of the threads on Apple’s forums focuses on the zoom animations, which several posters to the forum complain are making them feel motion sickness.
They report feelings of nausea and headaches, both of which are common symptoms of feeling motion sick. Apple support apparently told one of the people who posted on the forum that there was no way to disable the animations.
Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) reported earlier this week that 200 million iOS devices had already been upgraded to the new operating system. But as we can see, just because so many people have upgraded so quickly doesn’t mean that the upgrade is liked, especially since Apple is forcing it on everyone who owns an iOS device.
