LG G2 Smartphone Versus Samsung Galaxy S4

Tech giant LG Electronics Inc. (KRX:066570) just announced their upcoming G2 smartphone that will be released in the near future. This Android-based smartphone will feature 4G LTE capabilities and measure about 5.2 inches.  It’s also the first device in LG’s new “G” series phones, which were designed to compete with other popular phones like the Moto X, Galaxy S4, and HTC One.

Highlights of the new phone include 2.3 GHz quad-core processor, Snapdragon 800 chip, 5.2 inch display with 1080 pixels x 1920 pixels, 13 MP rear camera, 2.1 MP front camera, and Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 operating system.

LG G2 pricing

Although  prices for the phone have yet to be announced, all four major carrier plan to sell the LG G2 smartphone. Interesting enough, this LG smartphone has a few better features than the Samsung Galaxy S4. Those features include processor, front camera, and battery. Still, the Samsung Galaxy S4 has more pixels per image and more portable design. This device also comes with features like Answer Me, a handy feature that allows users to automatically answer the phone call after lowering the ringtone volume, and Slide Aside, a feature that allows users to “slide” open apps to the side with a simple three-finger swipe.

LG Mobile’s chief executive officer/president states, “our definition of innovation today is technology that truly resonates with consumers. We have always listened to and learned from consumers in pursuit of innovation. We took this research to new heights in developing LG G2, the most exciting and ambitious phone in our company’s history.”

The LG G2 will be available within the next eight weeks in South Korea, North America, and Europe.

LG G2 competitors

LG’s new smartphone is another competitor in the Android market. Only time will tell if the LG G2 can compete with the likes of Samsung and HTC. Right now, the competition between smartphone makers is tough and it’s only going to get tougher over time.
