Over the past few months, we’ve been hearing a lot about Apple’s much rumored all new low cost version of the iPhone dubbed the iPhone 5C. Today, we have even more high-resolution images of the device’s shell, all thanks to Sonny Dickson who frequently leaks information regarding Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s products. You can check out some of the images of the iPhone 5C in all their full glory below.
More iPhone 5C pictures
These casing images are photographed from inside out, which means we can also look at some mounts present in the device for holding various components. However, there are no openings for the typical volume buttons and mute switch, which is kind of strange as every iPhone model released so far comes with such buttons.
iPhone 5C possible features
Of course, we cannot expect the iPhone 5C to be a powerhouse, since it is a cheaper version of the iPhone. For now, there’s no word on the tech specifications of this device, but it might come with a 4-inch screen, 8-megapixel camera, Apple A5 or A6 chip, and of course the new Lightning dock connector. Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) might manufacture the casing with polycarbonate to save costs. This means that the premium look and feel of the iPhone won’t be found in this device.
The new low-cost iPhone 5C is expected to be released with the iPhone 5S this fall. Cases of the device are already available on Amazon.com, even though there’s no official announcement about the device. The low cost model is said to be targeted towards emerging market customers.
After looking at these images, do you think that these are the real deal? The images for sure are clear this time, but no volume buttons on either side makes me doubt the legitimacy of these images. Will Apple release an iPhone without the volume buttons? We’ll have to wait and watch the show.
