iPhone 6 Components On Order For Possible September Arrival

Updated on

The iPhone 6 will arrive in September, according to Deutsche Bank analyst Chris Whitmore. He’s basing his claim on checks which he believes indicate that components for the device are on order, and his checks may very well be accurate because this morning we have what might be photos of those new iPhone components.

Claims That The iPhone 6 Will Be Out In September

Whitmore said his checks indicate that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has begun ordering longer lead-time components. As a result, he believes that the company will begin ramping production in August ahead of a launch in late September.

He disputed claims indicating that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) would unveil the iPhone 6 at WWDC this month. He doesn’t believe there will be any meaningful announcements about new iOS hardware at the conference, although like other analysts, he’s expecting a lot out of the iOS 7 redesign. He’s looking for Passbook updates ahead of a mobile payments and fingerprint authentication service as well as improvements to iCloud, Siri and Maps.

In Addition to iPhone 6

In addition, Whitmore expects to see a less expensive iPhone (perhaps the iPhone 5S, as some have referred to it?) along with the iPhone 6 this year.

Leaked iPhone 5S Component Images

Images leaked on the Chinese micro-blogging site Weibo allegedly show components for the iPhone 4, the iPhone 4S, the iPhone 5 and the iPhone 5S, hinting that that next device will be the 5S rather than the iPhone 6 as some are claiming. Or perhaps even that the iPhone 5S will be out along with the iPhone 6.

The photos allegedly compare the components from the various iPhone models. The French website Nowhere Else posted larger images of the photos, making them easier to see.

Included in those components are some that the poster claims are from the iPhone 5S. They are a different color than the components from previous iPhone models, and they’re also different sizes and shapes, although some of the iPhone 5S components appear to be a similar size and shape to those of the iPhone 5.
