iPhone 6 Rumors And Reports

Updated on

Everyone is talking about the next Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) smartphone. Whether Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) will dub it the iPhone 5S or iPhone 6 is something that remains to be seen. In the meantime, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) fans are hearing many different reports and rumors regarding the next great smartphone.

iPhone 6 Rumors And Reports

Yesterday, Reuters reported that Apple was working on creating two larger iPhones in 4.7 and 5.7 inch sizes. These phones are predicted to debut next year. We’ve also reported rumors about a budget iPhone Mini that would be made of plastic and come in a variety of colors. The reason Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) reportedly wants to create a range of iPhones to choose from is Samsung, their number one competitor. The South Korean tech giant has a lineup of the Galaxy S line including the Galaxy S4, Galaxy S4 Zoom, and Galaxy S4 Mini.

iPhone 6 Could Be a Phablet

Reuters reported from unnamed sources that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) approached suppliers with an idea for larger smartphone displays. This could mean that iPhone 6 may be a phablet, which is a larger smartphone that looks somewhat like a tablet. So far, nothing has been confirmed and it’s likely that we won’t hear of any official confirmation until Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is ready to introduce their phone.

iPhone 6 Features?

What we do know about the upcoming iPhone 6 is that it will feature Jonathan Ive’s newly designed iOS operating system which was showcased at the Worldwide Developer’s convention earlier this year. This new operating system features redesigned icons, a new universal font, new applications, and more.  The lock screen has been redesigned and all users have to do is make a quick swipe anywhere on their screen. There are also notifications that can work on lockscreen or anywhere else on the phone.

Although nothing has been confirmed yet, it’s predicted that the iPhone 5S will be released this year as a refresher while the iPhone 6 will come out sometime next year.
