Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) declared that it has touched the one million active advertiser milestone helped by increasing use of Facebook by the small business along with big businesses.

Dan Levy, Facebook Director of Small business stated in a post about the milestone and said that he would like to thank more than one million businesses who advertise actively on Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB).

Facebook Details-Europe and UK

On April 1, 2013, 1.2 billion connections were made between people and businesses through Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) in the European Union and around 295 million connections were made in the United Kingdom. According to Facebook, 270 million people viewed the pages of local business in the Europe Union within a week in March, and in the United Kingdom the number reached 55 million. As per the stats, 61 percent of active Facebook users in the European Union and UK are connected to the local business page on the social networking service.

Make the services simpler

Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) made an announcement that it will make its advertising products simpler, which would result in the closing down of half of the Facebook ad units towards the end of this year. Facebook decided to adopt the new initiative after it received feedback from marketers. After the feedback, the company got to know that its ad products are very much complicated and uncalled-for.

The social networking giant released an inside look at its Entity Graph, which is a set of complex data that records the 100+ billion connections between people, places and interests on the social network.

Analyst optimistic

According to analyst, Brian Wieser of Pivotal Research Group, the small and medium sized businesses can contribute a major part of the revenue this year. He said that the numbers reflect the certainty and durability of the company’s revenue growth.

Google Undisputed Leader

Google  Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) is the undisputed leader in the online advertising and has massive advertisers. Google crossed the 1 million mark, in 2007, but since then there has not been any updates by the search engine giant over the number of advertisers. According to some estimates at present there are around 2.5 million advertisers on Google.

As of now it cannot be said with surety that Facebook will be able to reach the level of Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG). The focus of Facebook has always been big and branded advertisers. By striking the one million mark, Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) has made it clear that it has been successful in alluring the local and small business and can cater to the demand of specific people.
