Just days after the posting of a screen shot purported to show the iPhone 6 in a retailer’s future inventory listing, we’re getting more rumors about what Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) may have up its sleeve, both for the iPhone 6 and for iOS 7.
Edge-To-Edge Screen Expected On iPhone 6
One of the most recent rumors about the iPhone 6 is an edge-to-edge display, which has been expected for quite some time. The site iPhoneMy reports that the iPhone 6 will have not only a 4.5 inch Retina display and 754 x 1296 resolution, but also an edge-to-edge screen, two 2.8 Ghz quad core processors and a 2,800 mAh battery. The iPhone 6 will also reportedly be four times faster than the iPhone 5 and twice as fast as the Galaxy S4.
A concept video has reportedly been leaked on YouTube, explaining how Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) supposedly plans to remove the edge completely. It also calls Samsung out, saying, “Your move, Samsung,” on one of the opening screens.
Widgets Expected On iOS 7
One of the features iOS 7 is expected to have is widgets—something users have been asking for because Android devices already have widgets. According to Gotta Be Mobile, the widgets will sit on the home screen of the device and offer instant access to various up-to-date bits of information like wather data or calendar entries.
The site published another concept video which is purported to show off Jony Ive’s vision for iOS 7. As expected, it shows off a flatter design, which Ive has been known to favor over the current design done by his predecessor Scott Forstall. It shows a flipped home screen which pushes the time and date to the bottom of the screen and the lock to the top. Also there’s reportedly a widget which controls music on the home screen.
