iPad 5 Production To Begin In July [REPORT]

Updated on

It won’t be long before the production stage for Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s fifth generation iPad begins. DigiTimes reported on Monday that the iPad is close to production. Unfortunately, DigiTimes isn’t always the most accurate source for rumors and the fact they received their information from an unnamed source from a Taiwan supply chain which only sometimes is a reliable source.

iPad 5 Production To Begin In July [REPORT]

Display Of iPad 5

The report speculates,”The display of the new iPad, which will hit market shelves as early as September, will still be a 2,048 x 1,536 Retina display, the same as the one used in the 4th-generation model, except that the new display is built on a glass substrate of 0.2mm, thinner than the 0.25mm one for the 4th-generation device, the sources said, adding the new table will has a narrow bezel.”

iPad 5 Release

Interesting enough, DigiTimes reports that the iPad 5 should be available by September. Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) tends to release new products during the latter part of the year so this rumor could be a real possibility. The rumor also adds that the device will feature a thinner glass substrate which will make this tablet thinner going from 0.25millimeters to 0.2 millimeters. It could also feature GF2 touchscreen technology. This new device should also lose about 33 percent of the weight. This device may also feature one LED light bar for backlighting instead of the the two LED light bars.

iPad’s popularity

Like Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s iPhone 5, the iPad 5 is a highly anticipated gadget. iPad is the most popular tablet computer and it started the trend for tablets. This device is quickly replacing traditional personal computers and laptops. It’s become a staple in many homes, businesses, schools, and government agencies. It’s predicted that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s iPad use will continue to grow over time and eventually become a catalyst to even more exciting technologies. For now, we will have to wait to see what Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) does with their next iPad.
