Zynga Inc (ZNGA) And Inis, In It Together

Updated on

When you break-up with Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB), you have to keep moving forward or simply get left behind. That is precisely what Zynga Inc (NASDAQ:ZNGA) is endeavoring to do with a number of “big” launches, both promised and those already underway in Canada.

Canada is apparently where one launches products these days. I’m guessing because in spite of being home to the third largest city in North America, Canada is home to a mere eight people capable of criticizing others. Which really doesn’t jibe with the violent nature of hockey but we will leave that for another day.

Zynga Inc (ZNGA) And Inis, In It Together

Presently, Zynga Inc (NASDAQ:ZNGA) is preparing for one of its biggest launches (globally, its already available in Canada) to date with the tower-offense game Eden to Green by Inis. Inis is of course best known for its rhythm games including Xbox 360’s Lips, Nintendo DS’s Elite Beat Agents, and PlayStation 2’s Gitaroo Man.

“Eden to Green is a tower offense game,” Inis chief creative officer Keiichi Yano recently told Jeffrey Grubb at GamesBeat. “I’m sure you’ve played tower defense games before, but in Eden to Green, you’re not just protecting your territory — you’re actually expanding it.”

Expanding their territory is also the goal of Zynga Inc (NASDAQ:ZNGA) and its collaborators.

Zynga Inc (NASDAQ:ZNGA) and Inis both are hoping that the colorful and expansive “Eden to Green” will appeal to all levels of participatory gamer. It’s turn-based in order to interest even the most casual player.

“You want to spread the green — not just to restore the beauty — but that’s what gives you the energy to plant more and better plants,” said Yano. “And with a turn-based system we can give the casual player a chance to think about their move and what they want to do and how they want to plan it.”

Zynga Inc (NASDAQ:ZNGA) has already impressed gamers with third-party published games like Horn, Clay Jam, and Respawnables in the last year. The secret to the success of these and the potential of future releases seems to be Zynga’s willingness to work hand-in-hand with developers to create the best in free-to-play social games.

While the aforementioned games and others have enjoyed success in a tablet and smartphone landscape growing more populated each day, Green to Eden could be the title that Zynga Inc (NASDAQ:ZNGA) has been waiting for since its break with Mr. Zuckerberg.
