Taking a screenshot on an IOS device is so easy that anyone can do it. All you need to do is to just press a combination of keys – the sleep and home buttons and a screen capture will be performed. You don’t even need any other third-party app and the screen shot will be saved in your camera roll. Well, that’s easy, but how do you record the screen of your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch?
That’s where you can use a new jailbreak tweak named RecordMyScreen which is available on the Cydia store. You must have noticed various tutorials on YouTube that show you how to do a certain thing on iOS, but most of those methods are complex, and not for normal users. This screen recording application makes your screen recording task real easy.
This application can help you to create video tutorials, demonstrate how to play a certain game, show a certain trick on your iOS device and do similar things. This app is made by collaboration of a team of different developers like John Coates, CoolStar, ProtoSphere, Nicholas Gomolion, and Brandon Etherage.
As you can see in the image, there’s a Record and a Stop button. In addition to that, there will be a red bar visible at the top of the screen when recording has started. Tap on the red bar and you will be taken to the application.
Once the recording is finished, you can head over to the Recordings tab of the application where you can find the video and audio file separately. From here, you can get sharing options such as Mail, Save to Camera Roll, Open in iFile and Open in Dropbox.
Tap on Settings to configure this tweak. There’s video size, video orientation, sample audio rate and channels option available. Users can adjust the settings as per their wish.
However, apart from its advantages, there’s also a shortcoming – it won’t work on any Retina iPad.
The app is not available on App Store as of now, which means non-jailbroken devices will have to wait to try their hands on it.
