Netflix, Inc. (NFLX) Could Be Planning Next International Expansion

Digital TV Europe reports that Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX) has posted requests for workers with technical, organizational and communication skills who speak Korean, French, Hindi, Dutch and Turkish. The job listings appear on the company’s jobs page and indicate that the workers would translate and help it customize their marketing efforts, content and interface for various target markets. They also said that native fluency is especially important.

Earlier this year, Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX)’s shareholder letter said it wasn’t looking to expand into any new markets, although it was looking at several international markets for late this year or early next year. The company has apparently advertised for language experts in the past;last October the company asked for experts in many of the languages currently being sought, plus Norwegian, Italian, German and Japanese speakers.

At the time of the October listing, Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX) said it wanted the language experts to help with translating television shows and movies as well as building relationships with international content creators.

Currently Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX)’s services are available in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Ireland, Scandinavia and Latin America. With the specific language speakers that are currently being sought by the company, it would make sense that those markets could be targets for Netflix’s next expansion.

Shares of Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX) were trading mostly flat late Tuesday morning at the NASDAQ.
