iPad 5 Purported Image Shows A Thinner Front Panel

What can Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) fans expect from the upcoming iPad 5? French tech website Nowhereelse.fr recently released a purported image of the 5th-generation iPad and the image shows a design that’s even thinner than the current iPad 4.

iPad 5 Purported Image Shows A Thinner Front Panel

The picture shows the iPad 5’s front cover and all the surrounding bezels with an overall thinner design which makes it look similar to the iPad Mini. There have been numerous rumors that the iPad 5 would be thinner and this photo is the only  photo that may back-up the rumor.

Interesting enough, Nowhereelse.fr has a pretty good track record of when it comes to sharing accurate details for future Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) products.  Unfortunately, the website got their image from an unnamed Chinese source which may or may not be the most reliable of sources to report from. Only time will tell if this image is real.

At press time, there is no expected date for the iPad 5 launch.

On Tuesday, there was a report from Digitimes that the fifth generation Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) tablet would go into production sometime during the summer. This report cancels out another recent report that claimed the iPad 5 would be introduced in April.

In 2012, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) introduced three new iPads: the iPad 3 in March, the iPad Mini in October, and the iPad 4 in November. There is no doubt that Apple will introduce the next iPad and iPad Mini, but when the new gadgets are introduced is still the question.

Perhaps the next iPad and iPad Mini will be introduced around the same time this year. It’s also possible that Apple could release two large iPads this year.

The iPad is a significant gadget for Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) just as the iPhone is.  It’s a tablet computer that’s helped contribute to the current shift to mobile internet.
