For most carriers, the new phone is expected to comes out be released in early March. Verizon users should be able to purchase the HTC One by late March.  The Verizon version may feature  a refreshed version of Droid DNA.

The HTC One will come in two versions including the 32GB for $199 and 64GB for $299. The prices should stay the same for all the carriers.

The specifications for the HTC One include a 4.7 inch full HD display, quad-core 1.7 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, audio support, and enhanced videography/photography.  It will likely use either Jelly Bean 4.1 or Jelly Bean 4.2 as the operating system.

The HTC One will replace the One X phone which was approved by critics but still needs a reboot. As one reviewer eloquently put it, “The HTC One X is a beautiful piece of kit. “It’s stylishly designed, light, has a cracking screen and comes with enough future-proofing to make us believe our grandchildren may still have one… In short: the rivals better step it up in 2012 if they want to stop the HTC sparking a big revival for the popular smartphone brand.”

The arrival is over-due. Last summer, sales for the HTC One started to slip and the brand slipped from the top five global smartphone brands. It’s clear that HTC is losing to brands like Samsung and Apple. Perhaps this new smartphone reboot will change all of that. At press time, there is no word on when if HTC One X will be a big hit or at least a little successful.
