Sirius XM Radio Inc (NASDAQ:SIRI) announced Tuesday that Toyota Motor Corporation (NYSE:TM) will significantly increase the availability of the satellite radio giant across its entire vehicle line-up. Sirius XM Radio Inc (SIRI) Availability Expands Across Entire Toyota

The partnership means Sirius XM Radio Inc (NASDAQ:SIRI) will be available as a standard feature in all Toyota vehicles. All the new Toyota Motor Corporation (NYSE:TM) vehicles will be factory-equipped with a satellite radio and a three-month SiriusXM subscription, featuring commercial-free music, premier sports talk and live events, comedy, news, and exclusive talk and entertainment.

Announcing the partnership, Steve Cook, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Sales and Automotive at Sirius XM said “Toyota’s significant increase in the availability of Sirius XM Radio Inc (NASDAQ:SIRI) on its new multimedia system shows its commitment to giving customers technology that makes driving a Toyota vehicle even more enjoyable,” he added that “Satellite radio is easy to use and according to a national survey it is a top feature for customers buying vehicles with new multi-media systems.  We are proud that Toyota sees value in making the world’s best audio entertainment available to even more of its customers.”

The alliance with Toyota, the highest selling auto brands in the world, will undoubtedly boost the revenues and profits in the coming quarters for the satellite radio giant. This will help Sirius gain a lead over its rivals such as Pandora, who have already began the expansion into automobiles. Even Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL), which is due to launch its own audio streaming service (possibly later this month), will have to battle hard with Sirius, as far as content is concerned.

“SiriusXM is an easy to use technology that delivers an incredible breadth of content from coast to coast at the touch of a button,” said Jon Bucci, Vice President, Connected Vehicle Technologies, Toyota Motor Corporation (NYSE:TM) Sales, U.S.A., and Inc.  “We have included satellite radio in Toyota vehicles since 2004, and the growing variety of programming will appeal to an even wider spectrum of our customers, enhancing the experience of driving a Toyota vehicle.”

During the mid-afternoon trading session, Sirius XM Radio Inc (NASDAQ:SIRI) shares were up 1 cent to $3.10.
