Updated on

When it comes to buying tablets, buyers  have many choices to pick from; such as Apple’s iPad, the Microsoft Surface, the Nexus 7 and the Nexus 10. All these tablets come with their own feature sets and run on different platforms. If we look closely, we are bound to find some problems in most of these devices that affect our experience using them. One such problem is the touch screen responsiveness.

How To Improve Touch Screen Responsiveness On Surface Tablet

It may happen that some owners would not experience any such issues, while others may be frustrated. Recently a solution has been discovered to improve touch responsiveness on Microsoft Surface,  thanks to XDA Forum Member tamarasu.

This modification involves a small registry tweak ,which most users will be able to follow without any trouble.

The key is located at:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftTouchPredict ion

From here, two values need to be changed. The key for latency needs to be changed from 8 to 2, while the sample time also needs to be changed from 8 to 2.

Once you make these modifications, restart your device. One user has posted his thoughts that this modification will decrease battery life as the system must poll the touchscreen more often. So it might be possible that there will be an  increase in battery drain due to this tweak. Nevertheless, if you want better touch screen responsiveness on your Surface, then this is something worth trying out.
