Apple Inc. (AAPL) To Launch iPhone 5S In June-July Timeframe [REPORT]

The latest generation of the iPhone was launched in September, now that we’re in 2013, talk about the iPhone’s successor has started. According to a new report, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) have started testing the two iPhone prototypes.

Peter Misek of Jefferies said in a note to investors that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has already started testing the two future iPhone prototypes. From these two alleged prototypes, one of them is the “iPhone 5S,” while the other is the highly rumored Apple’s low-cost iPhone. We’ve previously also reported that Apple might be preparing for a low-priced iPhone.

Apple Inc. (AAPL) To Launch iPhone 5S In June-July Timeframe [REPORT]

Misek previously predicted that Apple will launch an upgrade to the iPhone 5 in December. He also predicted that the iPhone, referred to as “iPhone 6”, will come with a large 4.8-inch display. Apple is usually not in favor of big displays like Samsung, that’s why it’s hard to believe that Apple will really launch a device with such a large screen size. But nevertheless, we’re just talking about a prediction here. Also, it’s worth noting that Apple’s Phil Schiller denied the speculation of a low-cost iPhone.

But then again, Apple is not known to keep its promises. Remember how the company denied that a smaller iPad will ever arrive, and now we have the iPad Mini, although the device is not that successful, because it is missing the key feature – Retina display and secondly, it is overpriced, compared with similarly priced tablets in the market.

Misek believes that as people know about the “iPhone 5S” production, the demand for iPhone 5 will decrease over time.

Similar to the iPad mini, we expect a concentrated low-cost iPhone rather than a ‘cheap’ one. Likely specs: polycarbonate case with 4″ non-Retina display and no LTE.

Misek expects Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s next iPhone will be launched sooner than expected in the June-July timeframe. The low-cost iPhone would be geared towards emerging markets like China. No doubt, many people would love the idea of a low-cost iPhone.
