Wouldn’t it be great if you can save web content such as images, links and files directly to Google Drive? Well, that’s exactly what this new Chrome extension named as Save to Google Drive does. The product is a new extension officially offered by Google.

Save to Google Drive extension for Google Chrome allows users to upload files, photos and videos from the Internet to Google Drive. One more way this extension comes in handy is when you want to directly upload a file to Google Drive, without saving it to your local computer.

This extension adds an option to the right click menu in Google Chrome, which means you won’t need to use any web interface to upload files.

Once installed, you can see the Google Drive icon in your toolbar. Click on this icon and a snapshot of the current web page will be saved to your Google Drive account. When you do this for the first time, it will request you to grant permission to access your Google account.

Directly Save Files and Images to Google Drive

By default, the extention will save a snapshot of the web page in PNG format, but you can change the format setting from the extension options page. You can save the web page as PNG, HTML, Web archive or as a Google Document. There’s also an option to convert the document to Google format.

To save a specific image, right click on the image that you want to upload/save to Google Drive and then click on “Save Image to Google Drive”.
