Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer Gives Birth To A Baby Boy

Yahoo! Inc. (NASDAQ:YHOO)’s newly acquired CEO, Marissa Mayer, gave birth to a baby boy on Sunday night. The announcement comes this morning, via a Twitter post from Zachary Bogue, Mayer’s husband, which reads: “Baby boy Bogue born last night. Mom and baby are doing great–we couldn’t be more excited!”

A Yahoo! Inc. (NASDAQ:YHOO) spokesman confirmed the news with MarketWatch, saying, “Both Marissa and baby are healthy and the family is very excited.” The spokesperson added that Mayer was planning to return to work as soon as it was feasible, possibly in the next one to two weeks. However, he did indicate that she would continue with her executive duties remotely from home, until she was able to return to the office.

Mayer left Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) in August, to become Yahoo’s new CEO, and has definitely shown great strides in improving the company. She has removed several of Yahoo’s top executives and replaced them with people of her choosing, whom she feels will help guide the company in the direction she plans to take it.

The staff here at ValueWalk sends our congratulations to the new parents. We wish the best for the young family, and for Mayer, as she continues to lead the company toward new heights.
