Unlock iPhone, iPad & iPod Touch Using Pinch-to-Unlock Tweak

Updated on

Cydia is full of packages that adds useful functionalities to our iOS devices. Thanks to all these tweaks, we can now tweak out Apple’s mobile operating system the way we want. Once such aspect of iOS that developers love to tweak is the slide to unlock feature that allows users to slide the finger on the screen to unlock the device. If you ever wanted to unlock your iOS device with a pinch, then here comes a new “Pinch to Unlock” Cydia package.

Unlock iPhone, iPad & iPod Touch Using Pinch-to-Unlock Tweak

As the name suggests, this Pinch to Unlock tweak allows users to unlock their devices with a pinch gesture, instead of the traditional slide to unlock functionality provided by Apple. With this tweak enabled, you can use a pinch gesture on the display to unlock the iPhone, iPod touch or iPad.

As we know, pinch is a multiple point touch gesture that involves touching the screen with two fingers. The same gesture is used to zoom in and zoom out of images and websites through mobile browsers like Chrome, Safari, etc.

After installing this tweak, it requires no user input or setting of any type. The package will start working immediately once installed without any need to configure anything.

If you’re more comfortable with Slide to unlock while the jailbreak tweak is installed, then it works too. This means you now have two methods to unlock your iDevice – slide to unlock and pinch to unlock. Even though this tweak is active, the lock screen will still say “Slide to unlock”, although this method works, it would have been great if we could see a label like “Pinch to Unlock”. It doesn’t replaces the traditional method to unlock the device, but it adds one more method to unlock your device. You can use any method to unlock the device.

Pinch to unlock tweak is available as free of charge from the ModMyi repository. Get it by searching the name of this tweak on Cydia.
