While Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) officially launches the iPhone 5 on Wednesday, BGR.com’s Jonathan Geller reports that images of the very first “unboxing” of iPhone 5 has occurred, and the pictures show some changes. The most noticeable change is the color of the packaging following the color scheme of the iPhone 5’s Black and Slate pattern.
Apple’s packaging appears to have been altered to some extent for the sixth generation iPhone, and the company also has made good on promises to include some goodies in the box as well.

As Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) promised, they have included a set of their revolutionary new EarPod headphones. These are touted to provide extreme quality in both sound and comfort for the user. Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has also included a handy plastic travel case for the EarPods, to help protect them when not in use.
The company also included a new power charger for the iPhone 5, which touts a stronger power supply to help charge the powerful new battery, which is said to have increased longevity between charges.
The other addition to the package is Apple’s brand new Lightning to USB cable. This adapter was designed on the basis of the old Thunderbolt cable, but has improved speed in transferring data.
When can you buy the new iPhone 5?
The new device goes on sale officially at 8:00 a.m. Friday September 21st, and analysts say that this launch could prove to be Apple’s best ever. iPhone 5 preorders topped previous records, set by the iPhone 4S, which sold 1 million units in its first 24 hours of availability. The iPhone 5 doubled this number, and according to some reports, the actual release of the new device into the hands of consumers could also set groundbreaking records.
