HTC ‘What’s Next’ Event: Live Blog

HTC is releasing new Windows Phone 8 devices today, and this is just the latest of several product launches in the last few days and weeks. Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) released their new iPhone 5 earlier this month, and Nokia Corporation (NYSE:NOK) also released their new Lumia 920, which is powered by Windows Phone 8. HTC Joins the ranks with their new product launch today. Let’s get started!

EST HTC has set the stage for a fantastic event here in New York City, and the music is jamming with a very 70’s vibe, as we wait for the unveiling of the new products to begin. We are live in New York, and the excitement is very tangible!

It’s odd to note that while the decorations consist of circles and dots, the familiar company logo seems to be missing from them.

Peter Chou takes the stage and we are underway!!!

HTC has unveiled 2 new phones, the 8x and the 8s, and announced that AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon will be carrying them. This seems to leave Sprint out of the loop on the new “Signature phone of Windows 8”

This appears to be the end of the presentation for this launch. Stay tuned to ValueWalk for images of the new devices, and  a complete rundown of the specs. These two new phones could be a major boost to both HTC and Microsoft, who are struggling in their competition with Apple.
