Earlier this week, we have reported that Apple will unveil the iPhone 5 at a media event on September 12th. And now we are getting report that Apple will also introduce a tweaked iPod shuffle, new iPod nano, and new iPod touches.
This report comes from 9to5Mac, a blog that focuses on Apple products. According to their sources, we can expect Apple to tweak or update their line of iPods, which are the market leaders as portable music players.
A new iPod shuffle can be announced next week at a price of $49. The blog further adds to not expect any major changes. The new iPod shuffle will come in eight colors, which means more choice of colors compared to current line of five iPod shuffle colors.
A new revamped iPod nano is also said to be announced next week. The new iPod nano can be taller than the current ones and are rumored to come with WiFi. WiFi would be a really good new edition to these iPod nanos.
The new iPod nano will also come in eight colors, just like the iPod shuffle. Apple can also launch a higher priced iPod nano this year. But the price of this new model won’t differ much.
iPod touch is the device that many people buy who don’t want the phone functionality but want to get the taste of Apple’s iOS. The current generation of iPod touch features three prices and capacities.
This year, Apple will retain the design of fourth generation for the entry level iPod touch and the company will redesign two higher priced models.
The new iPods will be priced at $299 and $399 price points. These are the redesigned versions of the iPod touch models and for the first time, it will come in various colors.
For now we have so many speculations about the new iPod models but the reality would be out in just a week’s time. Let’s see what Apple holds for us in this September 12 event.
