Two vehicles passing by are reported to have been completely destroyed in the blast.

However there is no confirmation on the nature of the blast yet. Reports from local channels said the bomb appeared to have attacked a bus transporting the participants of a rally.

The attacked bus was partially destroyed as a result of the blast.

Preliminary reports state that the bus passengers were students of Imamia Students Organisation (ISO), which is a Shi’a Muslim students organisation in Pakistan. These students were headed to the rally on MA Jinnah Road. More than 20 people were on board.

Injured people have been shifted to different nearby hospitals.

This is not the first time that the people of Shia community have been attacked in Pakistan, recently on August 16, 2012, gunmen stopped a passenger bus in Mansehra, pulled 20 Shia Muslims off and killed them in cold blood.
