iPhone 5 engineering sample photos leaked from China

This time, this is not a concept, nor rendered images but we have got iPhone 5 engineering sample photos, courtesy of GottaBeMobile. The photos depict the new phone as taller, thinner and about the same width as the current generation.

These photos of metal design of iPhone 5 are sent by a trusted source inside the Apple supply chain. If rumors are true, then iPhone 5 will be the first significant redesign since iPhone 4 was announced in June 2010. Apple thinks that if something works well then there’s no need to change it. But now many people think that its time for Apple to introduce a new redesigned phone. The new device will also come with iOS 6, apart from physical changes.

These photos seems to be the most believable photos, because they tie in nicely with what everything we’ve been hearing from quite sometime.

As per these pictures, iPhone 5 will feature a design similar to iPhone 4S. However, it will be larger because of its taller dimensions and smaller bezel. Most likely, Apple won’t follow Android manufacturers lead by increasing the screen size more than 4-inch.

As seen in the above photos, we can see the rear facing camera on the top left of the phone. Also there is a microphone placed between the camera and flash which can be utilized for video recording. There is a rumor that iPhone 5 would come with a metal back.

Here are rumored features of the iPhone 5:

  • Large 4-inch display
  • Metal back, replacing the glass back that Apple used with iPhone 4 and 4S
  • Taller design to accommodate the device’s larger display
  • Quad-Core Processor, with the A6 chip
  • Improved front facing camera
  • Smaller 19-pin dock connector
  • 4G LTE data connectivity
  • And of course iOS 6

This rumor mill for Apple’s next generation of iPhone won’t stop until the phone is officially announced. We’ll be keeping a close eye on this product and we really hope that this won’t turn out to be just another over hyped product.
