Apple's iOS mobile web browsing share rises above 65%

The Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) and Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) wars continue on many fronts but in the mobile web browsing arena, Apple is winning big time. The latest numbers released by Net market share have show only one winner. Apple iOS has now claimed above 65%  of the mobile web browsing market. In the first quarter of 2011, iOS claimed 50%  of the web browsing and since then it has only risen steadily. The closest rival of iOS is Android which shares only 20% hold on the global web traffic.

iOS is the integral part of iPad, iPhone and iPod touch while Android environment is sold in HTC, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, Toshiba Corp, Motorola and a lot of other members of Open Handset Alliance, except Nokia which is sticking with Microsoft Windows. While Apple iOS is doing amazingly well in the web browsing market across the globe, Apple’s share in US smartphone is a little lower than expected. As mentioned in Apple vs Samsung,  smartphones coupled with Android operating system hold 50.8 percent of the US market while Apple’s smartphones account for 31.4 percent of market share.
