Canon made public the new Canon 5D Mark III; the event occurred in the same date that Canon celebrates the 25th Anniversary of the Canon’s EOS SLR system.

Quite a long time after the Mark II got into the public, above three years. There are lots of important changes on this new model. For all the photography fans, professional or nonprofessional this new camera has a lot to offer.

The Mark III has a 22.3-megapixel full frame CMOS sensor, a Digic 5+ processor, and like the new 61-point autofocus system, making the continuous shooting speed to 6 fps, compared with 3.9 fps that the Mark II had.

 The 5D Mark III sports has a dual Compact Flash Type I/UDMA and SD/SDHC/SDXC card slots. And regarding Video, it has new compressions, you can record for more time, it also splits videos on 4 GB files and noise reduction.

Other important features are: HDR and multiple exposure modes, in-camera RAW processing, ISO sensitivity from 100 to 25600, scene intelligent auto mode, optical viewfinder with 100% coverage, comparative playback function, and a 3.2 inch – 1.04 million-dot LCD, among others.

 The appearance of the camera didn’t change much from the previous model, but with a better dust and weather resistance, but is not waterproof still, so be careful with the rain.

 Everything about the camera sounds very attractive, but what about the price of this new Canon Mark III? The camera alone costs $3,499 USD, and with the 105mm kit lens $4,299 USD.

The camera will have a few accessories that will make it even more attractive, some of them are: a battery grip that accepts six AA-size batteries, one or two lithium-ion battery, a GPS receiver, a Speedlite with wireless radio transmitter, a Speedlite transmitter and a wireless file transmitter.

The Canon 5D Mark III will be available at stores at the end of the month, and the accessories will be distributed between March and April.
