Download Windows 10 Pro ISO File Without Product Key – Here’s How

Updated on

According to those in the know at Microsoft, Windows 10 has proven itself to be a stable OS and is here to stay. In a recent interview Satya Nadella who is Microsoft’s Chief Exec said:

“Windows 10 marks a new era in personal computing and is well and truly here”

From what we’ve seen that particular scenario could be some time off, what with some people being forced to upgrade from within their own computers and an increase in how-to down grade articles appearing all over the web. However, it is quite accurate to say that Microsoft may have actually got it right this time, with their most impressive and feature rich Windows OS so far.

Windows 10 ISO File

With a majority of Windows 10 users getting the OS through their current desktops and laptops as a free upgrade, there are a few, which until now have been almost forgotten about. We’re talking about those users who need an official Windows 10 ISO file to upgrade. The good news for those users is that Microsoft has now provided a means to download the ISO.

It’s been nearly 10-months since Microsoft started pushing the upgrade process at Windows-7 and 8.1 users, in-fact it started to do so only 24-hours after the Windows-10 launch. This time however, it looks as though it has attempted to cover all upgrade scenarios recognizing that some users have systems that require the Windows-10 ISO to be installed manually.

Users downloading the ISO will have the option to create either a bootable USB flash drive or copying the files over to DVD as an installation disc.

No Product Key Needed to Download

Microsoft is providing the ISO without the need of a product key, so that means anyone can download and prepare their chosen method of installation. However, it is critical to point out that a genuine product key will still be required when it comes to activating the OS this can be entered during or after installation.

Wherever you decide to download, to USB or to DVD there are a few things you need to make sure of before installation. Take a look at this checklist,

  • You need an active and reliable internet connection
  • Enough free storage space on a computer, USB or external drive.
  • A blank USB or DVD with atleast 4GB of storage space available.
  • Use a blank USB or DVD as any data already contained within will be deleted.
  • The computer you intend to install Windows 10 on should meet all minimum system requirements.
  • As previously mentioned a genuine Windows 10 product key.

If you have the required storage capacity and device and your intended installation system meets minimum requirements the ISO can be download from here.
